Delightful moment
Great, delightful, fantastic, witty, funny, spectacular, inspiring, subtle, stunning... I don't know enough English words to express what I feel after having seen the Voca people, a group of accapella singers that are really extraordinary. You've probably heard of them already (if you don't visit their website or Youtube), but I did not - and I'm really fortunate to have seen them live on stage at the Bobino theater yesterday. If you come to Paris rush to Bobino before the end of March, or else wait till they come to you.

I love accapella but you have introduced me to a new group! I hope they come to the U.S.!
ReplyDelete"Bobino" is a cute-sounding word. :)
I am going to look them up on YouTube! Love the poster with the red mouths and black eyebrows making an exaggerated expression on the white faces. The blue neon and evergreen boughs framing the shot make it quite appealing. Thanks, Eric.
ReplyDeleteWhat a remarkable group! I didn't know about them and now I do, thanks to you.
ReplyDeleteBobino reminds me of Bonobo. And those chimps don't monkey around!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of Voca People before. Sounds like a fun outing.
You should be in advertising...after that review, I am aching to go, I can't stand the wait! If music be the food of love, then you had me at your first sentence.
ReplyDelete(How's that last bit for the melding of 2 disparate eras!!!)
Great video, Eric, thanks for hooking us up!
ReplyDeleteThey are already dressed for Le diner en Blanc or even Nuit Blanche.
ReplyDeleteWOW—there's a comment from MR. phx-cdg! Before I saw that, I was going to say: OMG—ces gens sont formidables! I adore a cappella and these people are amazing—merci for sharing, Eric!
ReplyDeleteThey were fantastic Eric! Thanks for having a birthday, and thank you Guille for having the idea to take Eric there!
ReplyDelete@PHX (and Mr. PHX), you must try to go if you're in Paris while they're here!
I've seen them on youtube before, and am jealous of you seeing them live. How fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like fun!! It is lovely that you take advantage of all the wonderful opportunities that a city affords you!
ReplyDeleteBonjour!
Great fun and just the thing to brighten up a grey afternoon .Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletegreat stuff BUT I still prefer the Kings Singers... :))) These here give me a headache.... lol - BUT again, they are absolutely brilliant and it's great fun to see them and hear them....
ReplyDeleteSubtle doesn't quite seem to apply though...
Merci for this posting! What a great PR platform you just gave them, Eric... They will be sold out thanks to you - and good on them!!!!
@MR PHX Am I mistaken or this is your FIRST comment here?!
ReplyDelete@MRS PHX. Yes do go and see them. I might even go back with you...
@Kiki "Subtle doesn't quite seem to apply though." OK, you're right, maybe not subtle, but the way they link the music to the storyline was really imaginative and full of surprises.
Eric,
ReplyDeleteThanks! Never had heard of them :-) Just looked at their video on youtube, though, and really enjoyed it. I'm passing it on to my oldest son who is a professional singer and conductor. He will love it!
Sandy
They are fantastic indeed! Thanks you letting us know about them.
ReplyDeleteI am glad they were good because I would have looked really stupid in the opposite case... But it was definitely a good idea!
ReplyDeleteI think I am gonna send a few of my friends and relatives there.
Too bad the bar inside was not open though, n'est-ce pas Michael? ;)
PHX, you have to go.
