Sunny Paris
This weekend I went to buy sport shoes at Decathlon, near La Madeleine church and when I came out of the store, there it was, all golden because of a ray of sun so you know me, I pulled my trigger! It's a classic, I know, but that's also what PDP is about : a scary tunnel one day and a magnificent building the next day! BTW, did you know that it took 85 years to build this church (it was completed in 1845) and that it was almost turned into a railway station in 1837! (More here, if you're interested). Have a great week everyone, mine will be pretty busy, but I'll still be here ;-)

This is right around the corner from where we "lived" when we were in Paris! Thank you for the view!
ReplyDeleteI love how you capture such beauty with the light! That is what it is all about.
Great picture, Eric!

I agree .. great historical foto
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful colour when the shines, Eric! I too love this, when the sun shines on the Cotswold stone in my county. Lucky we always have our cameras with us!
ReplyDeleteI don't recall ever having really seen La Madeleine from this angle. It's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSuch beauty, Eric, thank you.
ReplyDeleteToday (it's still Sunday in California) a few of us enjoyed a leisurely lunch in your honor. Jeff (visiting from Minnesota) will send you a picture. It was Jeff, me, Carrie and your new fan, Jennifer. Carrie brought books of Paris and we shared our Paris dreams, as well as our love and admiration for you, Eric, and PDP.
Lyrical, La Madeleine,
ReplyDeleteo'erlooking les Parisiens.
And this is a delightful photo to come home to after our reminiscences of the City of Light. Merci!
There is a Decathlon @ La Madeleine?! Good to know! I love that place.
ReplyDeleteWhat's on the roof ?
What a beautiful chance to look at all the details!
ReplyDelete.
We love it when you "pull your trigger" eric.
ReplyDelete@Tomate, yes there is, and about a million other stores. My favourite is still the flower market there though. A bit of nature to offset the commercial side.
ReplyDeleteExcellent photo Eric. I hope the sun sticks around for a little while longer, but I fear it won't.
Some sunlight always makes a good picture.
ReplyDeleteCompliments,
Thanks, Eric—don't know what I'd do without my daily dose of your always surprising Paris. This shot is beautifully composed. Sounds like the SoCal PDPers had a great time with Jeff!
ReplyDeleteThank you Eric for starting my week on the right note!
ReplyDeleteI am back in Europe and I need all the sunshine and energy for my new plans:)
The City of Light dazzles us once again, with your help, of course, Eric. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteReally capsized by this picture. I think you are the most amazing photographer I ever know. And I have the feeling that I could recognize your signature amongst others. Sure it is beautiful, moving and breathtaking. Such an angle.
ReplyDeletethank you.

ReplyDeleteBut how many people know about the verey good restaurant under the church?
ReplyDeleteWhen I close my eyes and think Paris, these are the colours I imagine. To me Paris is "golden".
ReplyDeleteLovely light and so beautifully captured. Thank you for bringing us all the variety of shots you do. PDP rocks, always!
