A room with a cool view!

Here is a little teasing... Once again I was lucky enough to visit one of the finest hotels in Paris. I'll disclose which one tomorrow, but in the meantime (and to give me enough time to select the best pictures among the zillion photos I took!) I thought I'd make you guess which one it is. Like I said, it's one of the top palaces in Paris. Little hint: the King of Pop enjoyed this view last time he was in Paris...

  1. Lovely pic, Eric. I like seeing Green underneath the gray. (All we see in NH lately is white.) And ET!

Wild guess - Is the hotel the Georges Cinq?

  6. I'm with Alexa....definitely Hotel de Crillon. Beautiful view of the Place de la Concorde from different windows also....not to mention great shopping around the corner! With your photo, no binoculars needed! Thank you, Eric.

  7. For that view of La Tour Eiffel I would say it must be Hôtel de Crillon...also, his "Michael-Ness" would never tolerate the traffic on the Avenue George V...Too busy!!! LOL!!

  8. There's our man, with appointments in only the finest hotels. Free lance work, hmmm...?

  9. Lovely Eric - Hotel de Crillon it is... only rivaled by yesterday's lines of beauty.
Looking forward to being in my favorite city in March.

  10. LIKE. Very nice photo.

Eric, why don't you just show us all the photos you took? That'll save you the trouble of taking more for a while.

  11. I would say it's not the George V, as I think the ET is too far away.
Maybe the Crillon, but I thought their gardrails were in stone, not metal...

    So, let's wait tomorrow ;-)

  12. The RITZ - or would that be the wrong angle to ET ?
I haven't got a clue since I've never been on top of any of the hotels in this league.
Can't wait till tomorrow to get the answer ( and maybe an Animoto with some of your Zillion photos ?).

  14. Eric, my best guess is it's the Crillon. But I'll wait with baited breath to find out! Either way, I doubt I'll ever be able to stay there!

  16. .... your pixie is a pretty cool view too!!!! Tks; no need to offer a name as I don't stay overnight in Paris - mais la vue est simplement 'to die for'.... even with the lousy weather we 'enjoy'....

  17. Whichever it is, I'll have to enjoy the view from your lens, Eric. I'm sure I'll never be able to stay there! It is just lovely though. Can you imagine waking up and looking out the window at that? :D

  18. I don't think its the Crillon because I think you would see Place de la Concorde as well in any image facing the Eiffel Tower. My guess is Hotel Le Meurice.

  19. Paris Hilton?

My little joke darlink, I think it's the Ritz. As you already know, I always take a suite at the Crillon when I pop over to Paris darlink, but sometimes they are fully booked with dreadful nouveau riche types - bankers, pop stars etc. - and like you my dear Eric, I sometimes have to 'slum it' at the Ritz. :(

  20. I do feel a touch guilty over my 'nouveau riche' commment.
Bankers of course and most pop stars, but dear little Michael is excluded as he was the King of Pop and as a 'King' must be considered Royalty, as must Madge Queen of Pop,(was the marriage ever consummated?), THE King, Donna Summer Queen of Disco, the Kings of Leon and of course, pint sized pop sex bomb Prince.

Solomon King (who he?) was clearly an imposter as he stole the name from either a former King of Israel or a hotel on the Solomon Islands.

I think that's the pop peerage sorted. It's all frightfully complicated, but one really does need to know where one stands on the social ladder.

  21. Sorry for not using the accents for Athénée the first time around. Maybe now someone else will agree with me. It's lonely out here on a limb! lol.

  22. Plaza Athénée?

  23. I also thought it was the Hotel Le Meurice, but now I am thinking it might be the Hotel Regina looking across the Place des Pyramides to the Meurice. Whereever it is, wish I was there.
