Disco bus!

I was not going to use this photo for its quality is really bad, but then I heard the news about the death of Whitney Houston, so I did... This bus is a "Disco bus"; it moves around Paris (very slowly) while people are dancing in it (I know it's hard to see!). Quite an idea isn't?! I took this photo  on the river banks, just by the Musée d'Orsay, while I was passing the bus with my scooter. Have a look inside on their website... BTW, coming back to Whitney Houston, here in France, she's pretty famous for the encounter she had with Serge Gainsbourg on a television set (don't be horrified...)

  1. It's a shame when an artist dies. But we'll always have her music. She was a great voice.

  3. I decided long ago never to walk in anyone's shadow; if I fail, or if I succeed at least I did as I believe. - Whitney Houston

It is sad when such a talent is lost to the world. Ms. Houston had such a lovely voice. ~ V

  4. I remember that video. He made me almost as uncomfortable as he made her. He acted like a creep but she handled it with grace.

Hers is a sad story. I'm sorry she's gone.

  5. What an idea with a disco bus, I'm sure it's great fun for all the young ones, but I don't think it'll ever make it to my "to-do-list".

Yeah very sad with Whitney Houston, I'm glad we still have her music.

Welcome Wendy and Riet. You'll find the people here a little "obsessed" but it's ok...they're safe! :-)

  10. LOL I don't know about that, Michael!

This bus probably would not be on my list of "things to do", but I hope they have fun. I'd rather go to the Musee d'Orsay! :)

  12. I just love your Blog as it captures Paris like nothing else. Even if a photo is not perfect, it is like art and unique and captures the moment! C'est la Paris!

  13. You see what I mean Wendy and Riet? Christie is in denial and Petrea, well, let's just call her a very good actress shall we?

  14. LOL Michael and Petrea!! The bus looks like fun to me, too. Can't imagine the decibel levels inside that glass and plastic tube. And I bet the buses don't stay as pristine as they look in the ads. Thanks for capturing another totally Parisian thing I'd never have known existed. They sure do look happy to see Eric!!!

  16. I saw a bus like that in Brooklyn recently, but it was too dark to get a picture—I think your works great! Such a shame about Whitney Houston, but it seems drugs will trump talent every time. As for Serge, personally I always thought he was a bit creepy.
