Revoir Paris...
I loved California and Boston but after 2 weeks I am happy to go back home (besides, I'm short of photos!). If everything goes well (I hear there has been attacks in London - which I'm not going through, but still...) I should hit Charles de Gaulle airport around 11 am French time. 2 hours later I may be passing by this sign, that I love. It is to be found above the Gare Saint Lazare in the 17th arrondissement, near the rue des dames.

Eric, Welcome back home!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to your home and splendid country, Eric. I see that you are still blogging the July Red Theme!!
ReplyDeleteWell, Hello Eric, Hello Eric...it's so nice to have you back where you belong. (I just saw the musical, "Hello, Dolly" onstage....again for the umpthteen time...love it!)You can tell, Eric.
ReplyDeleteA nice, old-fashioned welcome to one's home town.
ReplyDeleteYou will certainly feel 'back where you belong' when you see it again.
Also nice to see a little Anglo-Saxon in the graffiti, which makes the English feel more at home too. LOL
Glad you enjoyed our fair country for a while...now go enjoy yours, you lucky man! I found some Carte Noire coffee in the back of my cupboard today, smiled, and thought of mornings in Paris. I'm planning a trip to La Antigua Guatemala in a couple of months, so I guess I can stock up on some good coffee again. Anyway, get some rest. Glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteI have never like graffiti before, but this PARIS sign really hooked me up. I really like the photo.
ReplyDeleteBienvenue chez vous cher Eric!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Home Eric. When I saw this photo this morning I was really surprised. Absolutely LOVE it! I hope you're bringing some of that Boston heatwave you experienced back with you. I'm tired of November weather in June (now July)!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back ^_^
The photo is excellent - a good symbol - and taken very close to where I live! (However, should you not rather arrive to Gare du Nord? Sorry!)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Eric! Great photo as usual.
ReplyDeleteYes we under attack here in the UK. London and also Glasgow. Security alert is now at the highest possible: Critical. The British attitude, however, is not to stop us doing what we want to do, go where we need to do, but to be extra vigilant and socially responsible. It's a terrible part of modern life which we find we must deal with more and more unfortunately. News today is that five people are already arrested and that two of the five are found to be hospital doctors. Respected, professional people now willing to do such things. It's a frightening thought for sure. We all perhaps assume that professional people are above such suspicions, of all crimes in fact. Not so. No-one, in my opinion, is above suspicion. I hope this experience does not spread to Paris, Eric.
Welcome home, Eric. Hope you had a groovy time in the good old U.S. of A. However, it's always great to get back to one's home and, especially, one's own bed.
ReplyDeletec'etait bien Boston ?
Lovely photo Eric! Love the feel of it :) So are you back in Paris safe and sound ? En outre Eric, j'étais juste se demandant si vous pourriez m'ajouter sur votre liste de liens quotidiens de Blog de photo ? I go as Chennai (India) http://www.ChennaiDailyPhoto.com
ReplyDeleteMerci à l'avance :)
Glad you are back home, Eric, safe and well!!!
ReplyDeleteLynn, your countrymen are in my thoughts and prayers.
Michael, sorry I did not see the "hugs campaign" until today. Saturday I was part of a Habitat for Humanity project, and Sunday I nursed my body back to health. But now that I've watched the clip I can't stop smiling. What a cool way to begin my Monday. Albeit belatedly, but no less sincere, here's a hug to all.
Peace.
That's a great shot! I really love these shots of "old" traditional scenes of Paris. They may not look like much when you see them every day but to someone on the other side of the planet, it feels really good! Welcome back, Eric.
ReplyDeleteTravelling is wonderful but there is no place like home.
ReplyDeletewelcome back to Europe Eric!:)
ReplyDeleteParis sera toujours Paris
ReplyDeleteJ'espère que tu auras fait bon voyage. Et si je te retrouvais à Cherourg très bientôt (la gare St Lazare permet de gagner cette ville du bout du monde) ?
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, Eric! I just found out that I may get to go to Paris for my birthday this year (end of October into early November) - can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Eric!
ReplyDeleteLynn, the British attitude in the aftermaths of the bombs sounds much like our attitude after 9/11. Go about your daily lives, do what you normally do, but be careful. To let these acts disrupt everyday life would be to give the terrorists satisfaction in their acts.
