Les Sirops Monin


The minute I entered this café in the 19th arrondissement (I forgot its name) I noticed these bottles on the bar. So I took a photo... Once I enlarged it I discovered a whole new world; the one of Les Sirops Monin (the Monin syrups), a family business (since 1912) that exports throughout the whole world and even have subsidiaries in the US, Singapore and Dubai. What do they do? Syrups! Not only the kind that you put on pancakes, but in cocktails and other high-end beverages. Check for yourself on their stunning website.

  4. That's so wierd -- we have Monin Syrups everywhere here, but the bottles are completely different. (Unless they very recently changed them!) This is a very atmospheric photo - makes me want to stop off for an afterwork drink!

  6. J'adore les sirops Mondin!! They are very popular here in San Francisco as well, as a matter of fact I think they use them to grease up the cables for the Cable Cars!!! Many of our cafes and coffee houses have them at the Bar!! Have been sooper bizzy the last few days but I loved the photo in the Parc les Buttes Chaumont and also dear Jeanne d'Arc!! We also have a resto named for The Maid of Orléans here in SF!! ;-)

  7. Oui, les sirops de Monin sont trés bon

    «Louis» used them in his espresso shop and also sold them by the bottle. For the U.S., the bottle is somewhat different and has a paper label. For the American market, Monin makes their syrups in Florida.

  8. Cool shot. I don't know whether to be hungry for gaufres or thirsty for a cocktail...or as La Vache points out, perhaps an espresso would do nicely. I do like the ambiance that this photo captures. Cheers!

  13. Today is Wednesday and children Day too so a syrup theme day with Monin recipes is a good idea blending
    with a small cocktail of Tenin PDP recipes. Sounds great. Yes, it does work for the Tenin Company is always in my pocket ;)

  17. Bonjour Eric. I've been enjoying PDP for a couple of months -- it's wonderful. I discovered it after I started relearning French. Almost every day I wonder, "What kind of camera does he tote around with him on his daily adventures?" I'd love to know. Keep up the terrific work!

  18. I very often waste my time with things I don't really care, while I'd love sipping any Monin syrup in Paris !
    Don't know if it is forgivable but I'm currently cooking pancakes with a MONIN caramel syrup. One of them at least is for you Eric, the biggest one :) I know you may not think it fitting but it is really heartly made!
