Lingerie show
I went - for work - to the international lingerie show today! You may think it's some kind of kinky exhibition, but not at all! It's a trade show where business prevails... Of course it's also a wonderful place for photographers even though I was not authorized to take models (for copyright reasons). I ended up photographing legs - well, plastic ones! BTW, do you remember my Renault photo shoot? Well, they came up with the final result yesterday (you need to agree to install a plugin called Photosynth if you want the full experience).

Ooooh la la la la!! Love these stockings! And I love the B&W which makes them look extra sexy!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture to use B&W on! It really emphasizes the pattern and texture of the stockings!
ReplyDeleteNice legs, Eric! Very fun picture. Hope you had a good day!
ReplyDelete'not authorised to take models'? Goodness Eric that has quite a risque meaning.
ReplyDeleteHonestly you and your kinky night excursions! Pah! All that explanation too; didn't wash with me, young man. Methinks you do protest too much! lol.
I'll wait until I'm on my home computer to click on the link to the show.
ReplyDeleteSo, Guille, do you think any of these would look good with your transparent plastic bag dress?
Awesome photo! And I LOVE the photo of you the Renault site has. I can't wait to dive into all the photos they have!
ReplyDeleteOh, Eric -- I do so love it when you give us black & white! Great photo.
ReplyDeleteAnd I also love your photos for the Renault shoot. Must say, in their photo of you, you look kind of tough —in a good (i.e., sexy) way, of course!
And congrats to Katie -- GF again!
elegant
ReplyDeleteI count 10 (including this one) mannequin photos that you have shared with us at PDP. Keep it up and there will be a book. I love them all BTW.
ReplyDeleteHey, did you ever see the film "Mannequin"? (1987) or the sequel, "Mannequin Two: On the Move" (1991). There were earlier films too, according to Wikipedia. The film is about "... a struggling artist who goes from one dead-end job to another. This all changes when a mannequin he created for a department store window comes to life. The mannequin was once Emahasure, a real-life woman from ancient Egypt. Her beauty and love inspire Switcher to become the best window dresser in town."
It's a romantic comedy film, not a horror film.
Ok, in 3 days, 2 mannequins and a stuffed bear photos...Don't you prefer real, alive skin (or fur) Eric?! LOL
ReplyDeleteThese legs are so perfect, I'm kind of jealous.
I really like this shot. Well done with the B&W. I agree with Katie, that's extra sexy, even if it's in plastic!
Jeff, I take them all. This way I could change them everyday to match them with ALL my plastic dresses! ;)
How do they get the hair on their legs to make such even patterns? Is it like cornrow braiding?
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anything special to say today other than that whomever wins Golden Finger for January 26, 2009, will be the special winner for the second anniversary of the contest!!!!There will be a special crowning for them at the PDP picnic in May, whether they are there or not. That's because the Academy will find a replacement for the winner, if necessary.
ReplyDeleteSo, rev up your engines and let's see who will be first to post on January 26th. Get a LEG up on UKLynn, last years very first winner.
Woo hoo! Check out those gams (a bit of 1930s trivia :>) )
ReplyDeleteIt's a very interesting shot. My first husband was a Texan whose term for pursuing women was "chasing leg." That's what I thought of when I saw this shot!
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who feels compelled to say fra-GEEL-ay??
ReplyDeleteOh Eric, It's a hard knock life you lead. All those models, legs etc. Bless your heart. c'est la vie.
ReplyDeleteV
another brilliant perspective
ReplyDeleteSo these are on the cutting edge of fashion now. I remember wearing similar in the 60's. (I am old.)
ReplyDeleteas always Eric, I love your perspective.
ReplyDeleteIs there no limit to the value PDP brings to our lives? A preview of de rigueur hosiery for next season - very handy! The black & white is a chic touch.
ReplyDelete{LOL, USAElaine!}
These would make excellent lamps. lol Okay, perhaps I'm experiencing a little leftover fare from "A Christmas Story" (1983film by author Jean Shepherd). They certainly are sexy, even for mannequins. Yowza, Yowza, Yowza!
ReplyDeleteThere you go again Eric, always having a "leg up" on everyone else! Have installed the software to see the Renault results, but will wait to re-start before getting to see them. You're a star blogger now for sure.
ReplyDeletePhx-cdg : how exciting this 26th January contest sounds!! :)
ReplyDeleteAlexa, agree with your comment about Eric on the Renault photo! I love this tough part ;)
Et qui a dit que ça nous faisait une belle jambe, hein?
hmhm...
Wow Phx I can't wait! I am putting highly perfumed cream on my fingers as we speak and manicuring my nails at the ready. I do not, repeat not, relinquish my crown easily; be warned! lol. We are talking about the night of 25th going into 26th at midnight aren't we, just to be clear? Not that I'm obsessed or anything...polish, polish....
ReplyDeleteNice B&W legs. This photo makes me want to go stocking shopping.
ReplyDeleteBTW good luck to all of you running for the GF award on monday.
ReplyDeleteI'll never make it to GF, so I'll just cheer for the rest of you.
Everybody have a nice weekend !!!
If you say it's a trade show we believe you. It's a really cool monochrome image. You can get a "model release form" which will enable you to take the models images, unless the organisers have have a blanket block. Then you can ender the images for sale too.
ReplyDeleteI love this picture! It's really beautiful in an unexpected way.
ReplyDeleteSee what I mean, PDPer's? UKLynn is going to great LEnGths to insure her victory. She is a world class contender, even I didn't think to get a manicure!!lol.
ReplyDeleteYes,all contenders should be in the starting gate the night of the 25th going into the 26th. Since Eric is beyond reproach, only HE will know when the gun will sound.
In this case, it won't be legs, but fingers that will get you to the finish line, and, that coveted trophy at the picnic. I expect a great speech on the banks of the Seine!!!!!
Wow - what a working life you have. How fun! I'm sure that this assignment balances out some others that aren't so hot.
ReplyDeleteThis photograph is taking me way back! I'm old enough to remember when women actually had to hook up their stockings (?)[les bas] to a sort of garter so they wouldn't fall. My mom had those. Then there were the kinds of stockings with an elastic band [bas à elastic]. They fell anyway. I think the slip-on [collant] type of stocking came out mainstream around the mid- to late 60's, no?
ReplyDeletehe he Phx. I can't yet decide to put my newly manicured mains to the task or to wear...my beautifully fine black, soft leather gloves. LOL. It's a toughie...
ReplyDeleteA speech? Oh. Er. Um. Well. Ah. Oh...ok then! I'm rather shy though as you know ;)
ReplyDeleteColtrane, "A Christmas Story" is what sprang to my mind as well when I saw this photo!
ReplyDeleteLois, I remember "Mannequin." I saw it on a date when I was in high school.
Eric, what a clever way of showing us what you did at work today!
Coltraine, Parisian Heart, that's why I said "fra-GEEL-ay" yesterday. Best line in the movie.
ReplyDeleteComment dit-on "fishnets" en Francais?? Anyone?
ReplyDeleteRe: GF - I'm rooting for Lynn, Duchess of Cheltenham to repeat on the competition! Go Duchess! Get those nimble fingers into position!
LOL ah thanks Pont Girl! I think everyone is geared up so I need the support! he he.
ReplyDeletePetrea, I had forgotten that! I must need to watch again. :)
