Yesterday was red, today is... green. Why? Because I had the chance to have lunch at the Pershing Hall hotel today where they installed a vertical garden in the restaurant, in between the two main buildings of the hotel. The effect is really cool (and yes, the food is very good too!). FYI the hotel is located in what is usually called the "Golden Triangle", that is an area in the 8th arrondissement located between Avenue Montaigne, Avenue George V and Avenue Champs Elysées.

That is one stunning Paris picture, Eric!
ReplyDeleteThat is really beautiful - especially for our greenery starved eyes!
Let's all meet for lunch...
in our dreams!
Mammie
Even for eyes not starved of green (Brisbane, Australia) this is a stunning arrangement - a rainforest slope bristling with life!
ReplyDeleteWOW really beautiful! You are the best provider of dreams for people like me, Eric, no doubt!!
ReplyDeleteAnd you really know how to live! Congratulations for all what you are able to make in life. Bravo.
Gorgeous! It looks like a movie set.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo!!! I've seen another vertical garden, on an streetside wall, I believe down on or near the rue des Rosiers. I think they are a fantastic idea and I hope they catch on. I'd love to meet you all for lunch here!
ReplyDeleteI have been a fan of Patric Blanc's since I first saw his vertical garden at the Comme des Garcons store on rue Cherche Midi. He has done tons of vertical gardens in Paris and thru out the world, as your commenters will soon tell.
ReplyDeleteI just did a tour of the Flower Show at Macy's (don't miss) and during the tour, he pointed out a "vertical wall" with a dragonfly designed in the middle, saying that the walls are a "new fashion". Hooray for Patric Blanc and to Eric for showing one.
So much to like in this photo, but my eye is first drawn to that splash of violet (in both top windows) and the graceful railings. The only bad thing about meeting here would be having to eventually leave.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous spot! This quartier is too chi-chi pour moi, but let's do lunch here anyway.
ReplyDeletePHX -- thanks for reminding me about Macy's annual flower show!
Nice piece of a rainforest...undoubtly preserved for long.
ReplyDeleteI’m speechless with wonder even though I have been to musée du quai Branly.
ReplyDeleteThe really nice thing about this restaurant that may not be so well known is that it is often used by world-famous celebrities who wish to dress up special yet still dine incognito.
Wow that is one beautiful photo and place. I want to be you! Thanks for all the great photos and glimpses of Paris.:)
ReplyDeleteThat is an amazing and fantastic vertical garden! I love how the restaurant looks too, with modern furniture amongst ornate balconies.
ReplyDeleteI am speechless! You have outdone yourself this time...hats off to Eric!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant picture! The new Anthropologie store on Regent Street in London has a vertical garden much like this - super cool!
ReplyDeletethis vertical garden is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! It's so beautiful
ReplyDeleteWow! Such beauty to be enjoyed! That is absolutely gorgeous. Now that I've seen it, I can't imagine how they would decorate such a wall as this otherwise. It is just so serene and green.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo, a waterfall of lush, green plants! I love your blog, keep up the great work Eric.
ReplyDeleteMust visit this place one day.
ReplyDeleteAnd red or green, your photographs are really good.
Is it me or is this superb photo from a bigger format than the previous ones? Beautiful indeed.
ReplyDeleteEric, did you "rework" your photo? It seems that it is a mix of two shots ;-)
ReplyDeleteI checked the website of this hotel. Looks nice, but their photos are not as good as yours...
Lovely!! I'm sure very chi-chi and cher!! Lucky you M. Tenin!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean Thib. Things don’t quite line up on the right, especially the bottom right corner. But it is good that Eric stitched the two views together so we can see this most impressive larger scene.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that. Only in France! I can't wait to get there in June. I am taking part in a web design competition WIF2010.
