A pretty conceptual photo for today. It shows the various "layers" of the Metro. I like it, but I cannot really tell you why. That's all, not much to add... Oh yes, have a good Sunday ;-)
I can tell you you what I like about your photo of the Metro layers:
The bright yellow chairs - what a bold, happy burst of color above the dull grey and worn tracks!
The movement in the legs left and right of the frame, moving feet - no moving vehicle. People still WALK above the Metro tracks. You've captured the movement without the train in what would otherwise be a static, lifeless shot.
Bright, moving ... that's a layer of life with the Metro!
i like seeing layers of anything; rock formations, cakes and desserts, clouds....archaeologists find civilization layers built one on top of the other......layers fascinate me.......
Oh I love taking the Metro now that I"ve learned it......well sort of. Seeing these tracks made me laugh. My dear 7 year old , and yes a little prissy, granddaughter stared at the tracks every time we went. She said she was looking for RATS!!! Mon dieu. Thankfully we never saw any. V
Yes, what were you doing in the metro Eric?? LOL!! Has any volcanic ash from Iceland made its way down there yet?? Plenty of Europeans trapped here in the hotel..all flights from SFO are canceled or eternally delayed! :-(
Yeah, Zazie—what WERE you doing in the metro? This is such a cool shot, with movement above and static below. And when did Parisians start wearing sneakers?
Yeah...what WERE you doing in the Metro Eric. Obviously you were in search of something, which it seems you found. I see a seismic survey too, but did anybody notice the "sneakers" and the green outfit? I bet it was during the marathon, no?
@PHX "BTW, what WERE you doing in the Metro????" LOL. I was lost, obviously...
@Tall Garry "look a bit “wired.”" Excellent!
@Christie. Merci.
@Donna. Yes, not to forget the layers of ice in the poles that allow the scientists to deduct a thousand things.
@Virginia "She said she was looking for RATS!!! Mon dieu. Thankfully we never saw any." Well she - and you - did not look close enough. There are many in the Metro...
@Tonton and @Alexa "Yes, what were you doing in the metro Eric??" LOL same reaction as PHX. Well you know sometimes, you have to follow people... (I said sometimes!)
@MyFrenchawakeing "I'm curious as to which Metro station was this taken? Therese" Well that is Franklin Roosevelt, line 9.
@Michael " I see a seismic survey too, but did anybody notice the "sneakers" and the green outfit? I bet it was during the marathon, no?" You are so perceptive. It's almost as if you had inside information...
@Thib. "The sun is shining is Paris and you have abrand new scooter, Eric! So why in the métro ???? ... apart to give us this nice shot ;-)" You're right Thib, but I was not inspired by the sun lately...
@fiziskandarz "Bonjour! I came across this blog while bloghopping. Whoa u got a great images of Paris here! i like! :D" Merci, come back anytime, there will be more...
@Brattcat "a very archaeological view." Yes, that is what I should have been!

You just need a souris or two running along the track to make it truly authentic!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW, what WERE you doing in the Metro????
With the apparent rushing above; things, both above and below the platform, look a bit “wired.”
ReplyDeleteI like this photo, much.
Living in a town with no public transportation, I find these shots so interesting! Great use of color and style, Eric!
