Coffee at the Marriott
I don't always have the time to meet PDP followers who come to Paris, but today I did! Thus, I had the pleasure of having coffee with Ed and Barbara from Atlanta in the lobby of their hotel: the Marriott on the Champs Elysées. And you know me, I can't go somewhere without taking a photo ;-) So I did. That is how you're looking at the magnificent Atrium of the hotel. I remember that in the early days of this hotel they even had a huge tree in there. Really impressive.

Is it a grey day? Is that the sky? You are part ambassador, part photo journalist and part artist. I happy that you met our fellow PDPers.
ReplyDeleteOops! *I am happy that you met our fellow PDPers.*
ReplyDelete@Lois. Yes today was a grey day. It even rained a little... Everything - including the nice weather - comes to an end ;-(
ReplyDeleteImpressive, yes, it certainly is. And so often hidden from all but a few chosen ones! And then again, there are always those who don't look up. Things are looking up, as the say!
ReplyDeleteBarbara and Ed were thrilled to meet you, I'm sure! I hope they're having a fabulous time in Paris. This is gorgeous even under a gray sky.
ReplyDeleteI want to say hello to Bettina and send you all my best wishes.
ReplyDeleteAlso, this is a stunningly artistic photo.
Eric, I know that meeting you would be a highlight of time in Paris for me! I'm glad that Ed, Barbara, and you met. (BTW, I used to live in Atlanta!)
ReplyDeleteI am curious about the age of this Marriott, because I do not recall seeing it or even seeing pictures of it before. This photo reminds me of the beautiful domed ceiling at les Galeries Lafayette.
Eric, you have fans around the world! How wonderful that everyone wants to meet you. Of course you don't have time to meet us all individually (that's what the picnic is for), but if you don't find time to meet me when I come to Paris I won't forgive you until...until...until you post another classic like yesterday's.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry. I haven't scheduled my trip yet.
@Petrea. I hope you know the answer to that question Petrea!! (And who knows, I may be the first one to cross the ocean...
ReplyDeleteOoh, this is a fantastic (albeit dizzying) image, Eric!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning photo, Eric.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid this hotel is a little out of my league, but It sure is beautiful.
Thank you Jeff ;o)
@Sab, things are ALWAYS looking up at PDP when you've got the famous Tenin perspective! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful picture!
Impressive indeed.
ReplyDeleteLove this - it reminds of the Musee D'Orsay clock with no hands!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! This is simply beautiful. And, as Sab says, hidden to all but a few. We're just glad you had the opportunity to visit and capture this shot, Eric. Happy meetings!
ReplyDeleteWow! This makes an impression. How far in advance does one have to book an appt. with the famed PDP originator? : ) Nice work...as always!
ReplyDeleteLucky Ed and Barbara!!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to Bettina too.

At first I thought you TOOK the photo in Atlanta - - it certainly looks more Atlantan than Parisian.

ReplyDeleteGosh, what a glamorous place.... It made me (too) think of both Musée d'Orsay and Lafayette cupola.... I wish I had to money to stay at a place like this - just once!!! :)
ReplyDeleteA fabulous photo Eric and for me a great 'come-back' after my computer died on me some days ago and I only just am back to try to catch up with all the mails, blogs, work related stuff etc....
Have a great weekend!
Kiki
