London-Paris by bike...

Let me introduce you to Jacqui, a young lady whom I photographed yesterday (Saturday) at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower just after her arrival from London. This would not be that extraordinary if she had not made the journey on a bike! Why did she do that? To raise money for a good cause of course. I really look up to people like her, so when she emailed me in June to ask me if I could be there on the day of her arrival, I did not think twice. Congratulations Jacqui and, people, it is still time to make donations... (Do listen to her interview too, it's here).

  1. Bravo, Jackie—and all your fellow bikers-for-charity!
And good for you, Eric, for being there to record her big moment. That was SO nice.

  2. Morning eric morning pdp . Have spent a comfortable night in Paris and am having a day off cycling ! It was lovely to meet you yesterday thank you so much for coming to meet me . Cycling into Paris around the arc de triomphe and down to eiffle tower was very special and all my aches and pains evaporated . To be met by Parisienne friends on the finish was the icing on the cake,

    merci eric and pdp .

  3. First time I read that you were willing, Jackie, to go from London to Paris riding a bike I really thought it was a little joke !!
But, no, and I'm glad to see/hear your happiness, now you are in Paris, after all these miles. Bravo!
Have a good rest, today. Have a nice Sunday.

  4. Well done Jackie! Amazing :)

I know that a small team from Tewkesbury was part of this group too - I tweeted their efforts, but not many tweets came through from them - no wonder, with all that pedalling!
    Well done everyone :D

  5. Well done! Congratulations and all that as well. I'm sure you had a fantastic time seeing the countryside in a new way. Jackie, it is very nice to meet you in photos, and Eric, wonderful shot and thanks for sharing it with us!

  6. You go Jackie! How marvelous. And Eric, you WERE looking up to her! HAR Great shot from the ET perspective.

  7. She is doing something to be proud of for the rest of her life.
