Last evening about 2000 people were evacuated after from the Eiffel Tower after a bomb alert (an anonymous call). Fortunately nothing serious happened, but it's always scary to hear such a news. I guess the line will be shorter tomorrow...As for me, I don't know why, I keep passing by the Tower lately... Today I had a meeting rue Saint Saens (A French composer) in the 15th arrondissement and on the way back I stopped by the Iron lady and took this shot. I did not know exactly what the result would be, but at the risk of sounding self satisfied, I like it! As we say in French I'd even say "c'est de la bombe" (OK, bad humor... LOL!)

ReplyDeleteHow an intriguing shot... You can be proud of it, you are perfectly right. I happened to use the term "bomb" today so this is funny but I swear I did not call for the bomb alert... I went to the Eiffel Tower last Week-end and missed the last lift to the top for a few minutes. I was disappointed because I never went to the top so far. I would have been very scary if I had been part of the people who were evacuated today. Thinking of it ... Maybe I would have called you Eric so you to know. But I see you are always everywhere things happen :)

It is a lovely shot and I hope they find the meanie who called in the threat and then punish them very meanly as well. Can you imagine panicking 22,000 people for a joke? That's just wrong. But I'm glad the Iron Lady of the Lace is all right!

Most importantly, though, what do you mean, you haven't been to the top of La Tour? But you'd love it! Even I have been there and I'm no Parisienne. Eric, put it on your list--not for us, but for yourself. The elevator alone is an experience.
