Automobile show 2010

Every other year in Paris the Mondial de l'automobile (the world automobile show) takes place at VIParis, a big exhibition center at Porte de Versailles. I'm not too big on cars to be honest, so I don't really look forward to this "big" event. Only this year I visited hall 8, dedicated to old cars and it really made my visit worth it. Great find really. I loved it. I took a few photos (that you can see in this little Animoto) and selected this one for my photo du jour. Italians are the best when it comes to designing cars I say!

  1. I'm not too big on cars, either—but I love this photo (and your perspective, of course! Nice that you could get a shot without people in it.

  2. Ooh, those are some nice rides. The doo wop sound track is perfect.

I like the Alfa, too. I also want the yellow vehicle with the tank treads and the roller on the front. The perfect car for traffic jams: get out of my way! No? Alors, vous etes une crepe!

  5. I do agree with Shell Sherree. Floating and reflecting.
This is a beautiful one that could be enlarged and framed. I used to work for a big fan of cars (and cars races). His offices were decorated with nice cars posters. This one could be one of them.
Also bravo for your creative 2011 PDP Calendar (good idea to leave everyone the possibility of choosing and nice from you). As usual, needless to say!

The Fiats reflected in polished floor are very slick." LOL!
"Those ugly Renaults (the old one was "kool" and those two fake wood paneled Jeep brought back memories.

Say safe as you travel the streets of Paris.

  8. Ah, the famous Tenin perspective lives on! And such a subject. I like cars, especially when they fit a person's personality, and I think that the little white one is me! Most definitely. If I had to choose a car from today, it would be a Mini Cooper or a Mazda Miata. LOVE those.

  10. I'm not into cars, but I can surely see the beauty in these.
And what a floor. I'm glad I'm not the one to polish it, lol.

  11. Lovely line up of Alfa Giulettas.
I agree that the Italians were tops for styling, although the Sprint Speciale on the far left could be the exception to the rule I say! :)
Build quality was another matter however. :(

  12. My husband would like this show - and he would like our cars to look like these cars - all shiny and clean and in the best room in the house!

  13. Baby you can drive my car, indeed! The only thing that shiny floor is missing is Fred & Ginger as they Begin the Beguine. (According to Wikipedia Cole Porter composed the song "at the piano in the bar of the Ritz Hotel in Paris." Class!
