Winter is on its way...

Could that look more like winter colors? I don't think so! I took this photo on the Ile des Signes Cygnes, the little island located between the 15th and the 16th arrondissement, I already mentioned when I posted the Statue of Liberty photo. The bridge you can see is only used by metros. Temperature in Paris for tomorrow Monday : 1 to 4 (34 to 39 Farenheit and 0 to 4 (32 to 39 Farenheit) on Tuesday. Brrrrr...

  3. Hiver? Nooooooooo!!

I love Paris in the Springtime, I love Paris in the Fall... I love Paris in the Summer when it sizzles, I am really not so crazy about Paris or New York or anywhere else (except Miami or PHX) in the winter... when it drizzles.

  5. Actually it's "Cygnes" and not "Signes".

  6. Yes Yogi, I was thinking of that too when I read the caption at first but I fell asleep before writing the first letter of my comment... Ile des cygnes. Now, it is the morning here in Paris, I can think of the beauty of the two seasons Autumn and Winter, admire the photo and picture me the cold that comes too quickly. The only thing I like with the cold is when I think of my lover warmth behind me, embracing me. But it is not cold enough now ;-)

  7. It's even l'île AUX CYGNES.
But "des signes" Eric, was it a "lapsus" ? Did you intend to send us a message with this sign story ? Did you ever try to wave from there to a beautiful girl working in La Maison de la Radio ? Please tell us the truth !

  8. ...a bridge reflecting the meeting of people, ideas, and opinions...the cool river relaxing the soul....and the cold sunshine giving hope for tomorrow....thanks Eric

  9. It's quite an unusual 'lapse' Eric! Signes and not Cygnes? Is this a subtle cry for help? Now I am all confused!

  10. Rooo la honte! L'île aux Gygnes, of course!

  14. Beautiful photo, Eric.
We are having the same temperatures in Denmark. The other morning it was snowing as well - that's a bit early for me.
If this go on, it will be an awfully long winter for the homeless people.

  17. I know many people only think of the ET and Notre Dame when they think of Paris but this photo evokes perfectly memories I have of Paris in the Fall and sitting near the Seine..waiting for the rain. You know I love your "slice of life" photos.

The blues and faded greens are perfect for this shot, but may I ask..Where are his legs?? ;-)

So happy to read so many comments from Boston[my hometown]and Maine..[my spiritual home!]...Merci!!

  20. How very unusual! We are warmer than Paris!! I am actually looking forward to probably one of the last warm days here tomorrow. All the way up to 68!! I hope that you will stay warm tomorrow (I'll even lend you my coat, since I won't need it until the sun starts going down. :)
