Cocktail food

I know a lot of you think I'm a party animal, that I spend my evenings out and that I jump from one gallery opening to another... But I don't! Except yesterday evening where I attended too fabulous events. But shush!, I also have to work and tomorrow is a very early morning as I have to go to Poitiers (a city in the center west of France) for the day. So before I give you some food for thoughts, here is some real food, the one I was offered at one of the places I visited. Sorry that is all I can offer you for today ;-) And before you ask me what this is, well, I simply don't remember (but it was super good!).

  1. Sea salt caramels? It sure seems
like you are a "party animal" (lol), but always for our pleasure.

  2. How about if we all try to guess what it is, and then it may jog your memory?

It looks like the salami made of dark and white chocolate that they will then thinly slice like salami for you...except this is looks like "hamburger meat"!
    Ta daaaaa!
( Now,where did I put that funny looking cigarette?)

  3. Thanks for the photo! What is your fabulous day job that allows for such great events and travel? Your profile says publishing - do you work in publishing beyond PDP? It seems like a great life style in such a great country.

  4. For a moment I visualized Eric getting his camera out of the blue in the middle of the party, asking the waiter to stand still for a minute and taking a few seconds to adjust his camera to get it right for us.

The rest of the party people either already knew who the famous & fabulous Eric is or they were all thinking: what is this man doing?

  5. Animal, vegetable, or mineral? I have no clue, with or without the funny cigarette. I suppose after smoking that, a person would eat it whatever it is.

And by the way, of course "Minneapolis loves France". That was established long ago. (Who is that masked Minneapolitan? If it's a pretty woman who likes wine, we should compare notes.)

  7. Monica, I thought the same thing!

Eric, I'm less interested in what the food was than what the event was. Can you tell us?

  8. It looks like the formed smoked salmon and roe on pastry crust canapé with gold leaf creme fraiche that they serve at Georges Restaurant @ Beaubourg! Delicieux :-)"

  11. Well, on top there is a half peanut and some gold leaf, a thin crust with a thicker layer on top. My detective skills could only figure out that much. But I must say, I really want to try one of these as well! (I don't think I've ever eaten gold...how riche!)
