The Rosenblum Collection

Saturday, March 26, 2011 Publié par Eric Tenin

Stunning! About 2 weeks ago, an good acquaintance of mine invited me to visit the "Rosenblum collection". I had no idea what it was all about, but since I trust his judgement, I said, OK. And there I was, 2 days ago, in front of this big black door in the middle of the 13th arrondissement waiting for it to open. What I saw there was absolutely stunning. Steve and Chiara Rosenblum, who run the place, are modern art lovers and instead of keeping it for themselves, they had the idea of creating this big space and organize private - and guided - visits at a very affordable price (10 €). You HAVE to go there if you come to Paris ; first, because it's really spectacular, second because it's really off the beaten tracks. If you want to see a few shots of what you can find there, check this little Animoto.

Yes! Another museum to add to my collection, and it's in my 'hood. Never even heard of it, but that is what makes PDP so great!!!

The picture itself reminds me of the work of the artist James Turell or Olafur Eliasson.

The slightly askew hallway with the lit doorways makes this look like a "fun house" scary passage at a carnival... Very interesting! Thanks for the lead on the museum, Eric. I plan on stopping by.

I love this photo. And I'm gathering your photographic tips and treasures for my visit. A month solo in Paris, sometimes it scares me silly but your blog is so reassuring. I love the face you put to Paris. Thank you.

Love the use of the Tenin Perspective in this shot! I have to admit, I am not a huge fan of modern art, I much prefer a good Impressionist piece, but this was interesting. I will put this on my possibles list of Paris, but not promising anything! :)

Eric I'm going to take your word for it and banish all my anxiousness and in the meantime try to upgrade my French.

Chouette. I love that it means owl and it also means nice. (If I've got that right.)
