Getting a tan in Paris

I think you can count on your fingers the number of times I appeared in this blog... But today it was almost like summer in Paris, I had lunch outside and I felt the urge to share. I thought of you all and asked the person I was having lunch with to take this photo. Not a nice view of Paris of course, but just a little snapshot of my life as a Parisian (and desperate for a little ray of sun LOL!). Tomorrow, I promise,  this blog will be back to "normal" ;-)

  2. I can't wait for the Sun to come out in the spring here in New York.

  3. Yes, I agree with Mammie and Mike - thank you for sharing the sun. After watching huge snowflakes fall most of the day in NH I needed that.

  4. Do you really have already green trees in Paris and France? I saw some bicycling on Eurosport currently happening in France, and there almost all trees were green... At first I thought they're retransmissioning last year's Tour De France.

  5. How appropriate that this photo - offering a perspective of the famous Eric Tenin - uses the famous Tenin perspective!

  6. I hope the weather stays like that for when I go to Paris next week!

  7. Awwww... a Eric Tenin perspective of The Eric Tenin! :D

    Well done! ;)

  8. Agree with Winsome, Tenin perspective of Tenin... Nice!

  9. I was going to say something about the Tenin technique of angle but maru beat me to it... Enjoy the day... You look happy!

  10. Smiling. Like Winsome, Tomate Farcie, and Maru said, "The Tenin perspective of Tenin." Sweet. And thank you for sharing your sunshine with us all. Here, we've gone from snowy days, to cloudy days, to pouring rainy days. So glad to know that the sun still exists! Enjoy. I will wait...not too patiently.

  11. I think it's a lovely view of Paris. Someone happy to be there. What can be better?

  12. Me too, Alison! Very cute, Eric—hope you remembered your sunscreen. ;~}

  13. Yes Eric, that's all very interesting, but the one question you haven't answered which is the 'only' one that intrigues me ................................. why are you on the street in your pyjamas? Is this another 'Parisian' thing?

    definitely remaining anonymous

  14. Looking good, Eric! May the sun shine on and on.... Thanks for sharing the warmth of Paris and a snapshot of the camera-smith!

  15. Monica, shame on you. Pajamas.

And to the rest of you: it's the Tenin perspective of LE Tenin!

I, too, envy the warmth. It's getting better here, but still winter.

  16. Its our very own Sun King!!
You look so happy! And, it transports me to Paris just as surely as any shot of Notre Dame could.

  17. Sun King!! LOL!
I wore a winter coat all day long in CDG because I listened to the weather report before I left. Still, people from Miami and PHX would have never thought to get some sun with yesterday,s weather.

  18. Ah yes. Basking again in the glow of admiring compliments.

  19. Oh, you're supposed to read the comments before you post?! Ooops.

  20. This photo is a real PDP curiosity.
Lunch in Paris, outside and without a coat on; I am envious !!!

  21. "May the sun shine warm upon your face.....". An olde Irish saying appropriate for Saint Patrick's Day, Eric! Cheers!!! (^_^)

  22. I hope you got a nice tan ...Well, I think you are a nice view of Paris ...

  23. The perspective is already largely commented.
So I'll simply add that you were right to enjoy this sun yesterday, as Paris is not really sunny today ;-(

  24. Perfect.

We have had a north south divide here with the south basking in the sunshine and the north wet and grey .

  25. Jeff, the pajamas comment is not mine!
I always say it's me even though I'm not able to log in.

Oh Eric, we love the not normal version of PDP!!!
Did you use a sunblock lotion?! ;)

Monica (from Rio - the one and only!)

  26. Eric, this reminds me of another photo of you enjoying the sun - relaxing with your back on a nice warm wall and your eyes closed. Are you sure you aren't a Floridian?

  27. Another Paris landmark.
    It's almost lifelike, quite uncanny.
Spoiled by those old PJ's some wag has put on it.

  28. Lol at all the pjs comments. You all know it's not. Looking good and happy Eric :) This is a good picture

  29. fabulous....thanks for taking us there.....

  30. Ooh, thanks for sharing this with us! (I agree with everyone else, a T Per w/ Tenin is awesome!) I miss the sun so much, glad that it is shining today on one of my favorite days -- Happy St. Patrick's Day! (As a mostly Irish girl, I have fun today, and yes, I'm wearing green!)

  31. It's nice today in New York.. although I really don't need a tan.. being from the caribbean and of a medium brown skin tone... I still use sunscreen alors ne vous oublie pas =) take care!

  32. It is nice to see the man behind the photos! Glad you are getting some nice sunny weather. It is sunny and windy here in Colorado today. Hopefully spring is on its way!

  33. Drummond, you are right! Tu as raison! It's another mannequin photo! So lifelike, and the clothing is realistic. They are not pajamas. You see, the real M PDP has been exercising and lost weight, so all his clothes are a little too big!

(His back to a wall and eyes closed: very existential, Deb. I can relate.)

    ReplyDelete
  34. What a welcoming blue sky! You are wise to enjoy it while you can, Eric.

    Drummond: LOL!

  35. I thought that guy looked familiar!! ;-) Don't forget your sunblock..or "Bain de Soleil!"...do they still sell that?? "For that St. Tropez tan.."...LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  36. You all made me LOL!

About the sunblock: well, unfortunately I don't think that was necessary as the sun was not THAT strong!

And no, these are not my pajamas ;-) - Although, they could be I agree - I had never thought of this shirt as such actually. But it made me laugh really.

  37. Sorry I'm late, but I love this view. You look contented, Eric, and a gentle dose of Vitamin D does the world of good. ;)

  38. This picture is proof that I picked the wrong year not to go to Paris during my Spring Break. :(

    Great picture Eric!

  39. Jeese, you make one little comment about Pyjamas and suddenly you become public enemy number one! Monica, I somehow suspect that Jeff was having a go at you not for the 'pyjama' comment, but rather more for the way he thought that 'you' had spelled it! Now I am definitely, definitely remaining anonymous

    Anonymous aka the 'pyjama kid'

  40. LOL! I'm not surprised at so many comments on this one! Tomate got it right!

I'm late, but want to share my impulse to kiss that Gallic chin and join you in your sunny day.
