A Paris Institution
Ask any Parisian and he'll probably know what you're talking about if you say "Mollard". It's one of the oldest Brasseries in Paris, located right by the Gare Saint Lazare. It was founded in 1867, at a time when this area was "the suburbs" - which sounds really funny nowadays, as this neighborhood is now considered as "central Paris!" Anyway I had dinner there last evening for the first time of my life(!) and I did not regret it (I had seafood, one of their specialties). Definitely a place I would recommend (and this is free advertising!). [Sorry for the late posting, I messed up with Blogger, as usual!].

You mean Blogger messed with you? ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time! What an interesting sign, with the letters on both sides, so it would appear from both directions. It sounds lovely.
ReplyDeleteIs the restaurant expensive?
ReplyDeleteThe unknow-to- me- until- now Mollard is a kind of tidbit that I live for on PDP! After a bit of leche-vitrine at Printemps I will wander over there, order a bottle of red wine, put on my beret and smoke my imaginary cigarette.OOPS, it's not 1867 anymore.
ReplyDeleteI went for dinner at Mollard last time I was in Paris. However, I had the Choucroute with salmon.(Just right for the winter). C'etait très bien!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a wonderful brasserie. I'll give it a try.
ReplyDeleteYeah, PHX, this is a classic educational photo on PDP.
ReplyDeleteLove the neon lights!...I just realised that you are back in Paris:)
ReplyDeleteI've never dined there either, Eric. I will have to try it when I am in that part of town. I do love the decor and the sign is charming
