A must eat at!

No, this photo has nothing to do with today's picnic! for the food will be much less sophisticated, but I happen to have walked by this Paris landmark restaurant two days ago and well, I could not help but take a photo. La Tour d'Argent may not be the best restaurant in the world, it may have lost a few stars along the years, it remains a unique place with a breath taking view on Notre Dame (take a look at it on their website). Besides it probably has the best cellar in Paris and a new chef (Stéphane Haissant) has been in charge since 2006. Definitely a place to visit if you can afford it.

  1. It looks like a place with real character, and history.

  2. I've been doing more research and was seriously considering this place, but I still can't get over the Eiffel Tower. Think I'll have to go to Jules Verne first, then La Tour next time. It will give me a reason to come back to Paris! :) Lovely picture, Eric!

  3. I never seem to have much money left over after buying my airline ticket and paying for lodging. Please feature some affordable places to dine. Where do Parisians eat when they are feeling rather bohemian?

  4. When I saw this photo, I thought perhaps you had relocated the PDP Picnic! : )

Seriously, I am glad that it looks like you have a beautiful day for the picnic!

  5. Eric, our friends took us to Tour d'Argent the day we arrived in Paris in May of 2006. We were jet-lagged and dizzy. The food was fine, the cheeses sublime, and we got a tour of the cave because our friend, a wine expert, made friends with the sommelier. It was an experience to remember.
