Gare d'Orsay

Yesterday, I passed by the Gare d'Orsay round 2 pm and realized that I had never taken a photo of it from this side! So here you go...  For those of you who don't know it, this building used to be a train station (that is why it's called La Gare d'Orsay) and became a - must see - museum in 1986. The building, is stunning whether you're inside or outside. As you can see the sun is back is Paris and people are out!

  1. It's a magnificent building, of course. And it looks quite warm indeed.

  2. This is gorgeous! (Getting really excited about coming to visit... :D) Can't wait to see it and sit on the steps in person.

  3. Love this place! But Ioved it even when it was just an empty railroad station. (My friends and I were always trying to figure out a way to get in.) Glad the sun is back out for you.

  4. Only one thing missing from this photo is - the queues! We waited over 45 minutes here to get in last Friday but it was worth it.

  5. It must have been on a Monday (when it's closed). I haven't seen it lately when there weren't huge lines out front.

  6. The first thing I noticed was not how beautiful it is or how nice the weather but that there is not a line to get in. Maybe it was early, before it opens. Wish I had been there to walk right in.

  7. Wonderful! Maybe the only time I've seen the Orsay from this perspective was on my first visit to the "new" museum, in the spring of '87.
