Since they completed the renovation of this building, the Comédie Française never ceases to amaze me, especially at night. I already showed it to you once and told you the history of it, but let me refresh your memory: it's the only state theater in France, it was founded in 1680 and that is where famous French play writer/actor Molière used to perform. I never visited this inside, but I plan to!
Amazing photo!
ReplyDeleteInteresting side of this famous building ! A lot of work has been nicely done. I have to go Inside though. Haven't been yet.
ReplyDeleteIt's the City of Light!
ReplyDeleteC'est tout à fait fantastique!
ReplyDeleteIt's grand, lit up like this!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful photo! The wet ground makes this especially stunning.
ReplyDeleteWonderful night image of a lovely place.
ReplyDeleteThe French comedy theater is a unique place full of exceptional players. When, in general, I go see a show that I loved, I want the actors to be applauded as much as they have given; I always fear they do not get as much as they give. At the same time, I see it with my eyes of a candid spectator and they are professionals but, I guess, right or wrong, that the flavor of their profession is still relative to the public emotions. In any case, I like to think that an actor gets back as much - or more, but this is hardly possible -, as much he/she gives. I am sure they still know how to please theirselves though and this is the reason they do this profession. But sometimes it itakes them years.
ReplyDeleteThe angle you chose to show the work is beautiful, yes lit up like that, for sure.
Eric
ReplyDeleteIs it open during the day for visitors? I will be in Paris at the end of the month.
As far as a pièce de Molière,I guess thatI will have to make a trip with my sis. and plan ahead as long as i know what comédie is scheduled. I have always loved Tartuffe and Malade Imaginaire
I'm pretty sure it is, but I'm not 100% sure. Sorry it does not help much does it?! I will investigate for you!
DeleteAnonymous, acting on stage is its own reward. There is a feedback from the audience. It's electric and uplifting. At least on stage, actors get back what they give.
ReplyDeleteI have only been in the reception area and restroom but there was a slight view up the stairs that looked very luxurious! Next visit I want to see more!
ReplyDeleteMary in Oregon
An appropriately dramatic photo! (especially so with the reflection on the wet pavement)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful especially lit up like that.
