Cocktail at Shangri-La Hotel Paris

Last night I attended a party for the opening of the French office of Linkedin, the business networking site, that you probably all know. I went there because I like the Linkedin people, but also because I wanted to see the famous Shangri-La hotel in Paris, where the event took place. The hotel opened last December and it is located in the former house of Prince Roland Bonaparte (Napoleon Bonaparte's grandnephew). Needless to say, the place is absolutely stunning! Did I mention it also has a breathtaking view on the Eiffel Tower?!

  3. This is a great shot, Eric—complete with chic (and no doubt well-heeled) guests. You probably have to pass some kind of fashion test before they let you stay there. Too bad—I'd love to be let inside, even for a few minutes! :~}

  4. Fashion test? No problem. Didn't you see yesterday's post?

    (Sorry, mon ami, I couldn't resist.)

  5. Did you know that if you subscribe to Linkedin, it gives them access to your database? When I discovered this I unsubscribed.

  6. I thought that was Holly Golightly in this picture. (Or at least, an Audrey Hepburn copy.)

  7. I always knew Shangri-La was in Paris. This hotel does look quite elegant, but I'm not surprised. Jeff..."fashion test.":-) Wren, I agree with you. I immediately thought of Audrey, too.

  8. Eric, I hope you photographed the breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower, and that we can see it in a post someday.

    Still enjoying all your photos and comments each day.

  10. Just clicked on to the hotel website, selected the duplex terrace suite with fabulous views of ET (the tower not the man- you can have too much of a good thing you know). Venue for this year's picnic/ pyjama party sorted.
    All that needs to be done now is to go out and buy a winning lottery ticket.

  15. Eric,
    Linkedin is a super site for professionals. If you are interested, watch out for their IPO. It's due to come out sometime this year. Do your own research, it might be something to invest in.
