Notre Dame x2

OK, I agree, this photo is a typical touristy photo, but I thought it was perfect for a peaceful Sunday ;-) Pretty soon I'll be heading back to my favorite city (I'm in Pittsburgh right now), but I won't have time to go to the Seine embankment when I return, as I will have to dive into work right away... Not to forget the preparation of the PDP picnic!

  1. It may look touristy but it is still a lovely photo. I like it!

  2. The reason this is a touristy shot is because it's something everyone loves. Nothing wrong with that.

  3. I would enjoy walking along the Seine tomorrow...too far for the afternoon. Safe travels home, Eric!

  4. On a much less touristic note, I just had a look at the comments some people left on msnbc following to the "IMF head affair". The least you can say is that many people do hate the French...

  6. Thanks for putting me right there on the banks of the Seine. I'll gladly be a Parisian tourist any day of the week. And BTW...there may be haters, but there are many who love the French, too. It's never too late to hop (or is that hope) on the Peace Train, eh? Safe journey home, Eric.

  7. Yeah, a lovely photo. Notre Dame X 2. A peaceful Sunday. And the IMF French leader arrestation... Notre Dame X 2 turns out to be a funny title! Well not only in painting, I mean, in his case! But, can't say how this affair is going to turn out... People hate French? People hate many people. Feeling a lot sad when reading all that... But that's not the intend. Thank you for sharing. I'd love talking about all that with you.
    But most important right now : have a safe trip back, Eric.

  8. ah Le Seine.. one of my favorite places to be in Paris! Not that many sleeps to go (ok, ok, it's a few really!) until I can walk along the banks again... *sigh* thanks for making me home sick Eric! and I'm really disappointed I can't make the PDP picnic too! Bisous x

  9. Great shot from the Left Bank and the West, Eric! As for the MSNBC comments...people are ignorant on both sides of the Atlamtic. I love the French....but almost daily have to answer to criticisms against Les Americains....c'est la vie, j'ai peur! =(

  10. Beautiful photo! Love the river, the painting, the "real thing" and everything. *sigh* Just so nice.

    No matter what, we love you, Eric! :) I can't imagine why anyone would hate anyone else simply because of where they were born, or where they live. Just seems unfathomable to me.

  11. I'm looking at this picture and wondering why someone who lives here wants to go to Pittsburgh! :~}
    Seriously, hope you're having a great time here. As for the comments on MSNBC, il y'a pas mal de cons partout dans le monde—and apparently we have our fair share.

  12. I think hate is ignorance. Our job is to continue to teach each other by being our best selves. Not so simple, I know, but it's a way to start.

  15. Ouch, Alexa. Pittsburgh is lovely, too! The plane tree-lined plaza in front of the main Carnegie Library (across from the carousel, near the Cathedral of Learning) reminds me so much of Paris. Alas, our "par 4" subway does not compare to the Metro : ) Eric, tell us about your Pittsburgh stay?
