A unique street

I took this shot at rue Denoyez, a street located in the 20th arrondissement that you have to visit if you come to Paris and are looking for an off the beaten track place to see. It's one of the rare streets in Paris where graffiti and all kinds of street art are tolerated by the Paris town hall. These planters, for instance, surround the poles that prevent cars from parking; they are all handmade by artists and are really unique. But there are many many other things to discover over there, so don't miss it.

  1. I have already seen some photos of Rue Desnoyez and I have to absolutely go there in July, when I will be in Paris for one week.

  5. oh, wow, it looks a lot cleaner on your photo! I photographed it a couple of years ago and I scared some of the kids who promptly turned away from the camera...

Rue de Belleville is worth the trip, not because there is anything specific to see but because there is not, if that makes any sense. :)

Get off at Metro Jourdain and walk down to the Canal St. Martin.

  8. It is just round the corner from the friends i stay with when I visist Paris and changes every time . There is colourful art and colourful characters and just around the corner from the metro at Belleville though like TF said the walk along the canal is great.

For those of you going to the pic nic it falls on the same weekend as the artists of Beleville open their studios to the public so might be work a wander if you fancy doing something off the tourist spots .

The web site is here but I have not found much info in English .

  13. How long will I have to stay in Paris to see all of Eric's "not to be missed" streets? I'm thinking that a lifetime isn't long enough. :) What a thought! Thank you for sharing some of these gems, Eric!
