Why run?

Here is another shot I took at Parc des Buttes Chaumont. There were a bunch of girls playing sort sort of games (I guess tag - what we call "jouer au chat" in French) and I waited for the perfect moment to shoot. I actually wanted to have the quiet guy by the tree and the running girl in the same photo ;-) Silly, I know...

  1. C'est extraordinaire, ce cadrage.
Je me suis souvent interrogée, moi aussi. Why run ? Surtout quand d'autres vont plus loin, en marchant d'un pas assuré, plus longtemps.

  2. It looks like you're having beautiful weather, Eric. It's cold here. I attended an outdoor book sale today and couldn't stay long enough to look through everything, even though hardbacks were 5 for $1, because I was too cold.

  3. Love this shot and enjoyed seeing this park for the first time in April. How wonderful to be able to sit, run, roll in the grass in Paris in a park!

I hope that you are safely home, mon ami.

  7. That's nice Eric - there's nothing and everything to do with Paris! I used to run through this wonderful park a lot when I first arrived in France 17 years ago and lived in Belleville. Actually I learned to rollerblade on those steep paths, and when you started to roll you sometimes couldn't stop...

  11. Not silly at all—it made for a great photo. It's rainy and nasty here in NYC right now, so thanks for vicarious Paris AND sunshine!

  12. I might actually be able to get out on my bicycle this week. It stopped raining and it is getting warm. The fuzzy focus of this photo makes it very Impressionistic: color, every day events of normal people, recreation and relaxation, and, if you are Claude Monet, people are only one contributing element in a composition of color.
