Where is everybody?

Those of you who visited Paris will probably think this is a fake! Why? Because generally, at this very famous location (Le Sacré Coeur), there are dozens of people running around, like little ants... (depending on the sources, it's the second or third most visited places in Paris, with 10 million visitors per year!) , but not this morning at "dawn", when I passed by there just before going to a meeting in the neighborhood. Enjoy...

  1. Wow, makes it feel like you own the place! One of the best spots in Paris... and when we miss it, we watch movies that used it as a beautiful backdrop! Thanks for the peaceful morning peek, Eric!

  2. Eric, dawn, eh? Well, from the looks of things, there was one other early riser looking down at you. Great capture! And what a fantastic way to start the day, too!

  8. I just watched the video of the picnic. What fun that Petrea's friends were there! And the 'bonus track' made me laugh. Who is that strange guy that called? Yeah, it was me. Thanks so much for another special day for visitors to Paris.

  9. The white stone and graceful Byzantine style always remind me of a wedding cake! We can all enjoy a slice, non?!?

  12. That is so cool! I love that we get to see it without the crowd. I know there are ways to take pics by hiding people behind trees and such, but you really lucked out this morning, Eric! :D Nice photo, and a place that is definitely on my list!

  13. Did they run out of bracelets to sell or letters written in Engligh to read? It's odd without the crowds, but that sky looks like it'll be a beautiful day....

  14. I think next time I visit I'll have to get up before dawn at least a couple of times. You get some wonderful early morning shots.

  15. We were just there only 9 days ago ! Not only is it breathtakingly beautiful itself, the view of Paris from there is amazing. There were indeed throngs of people there when we were there and so this photo seems so peaceful ! Thank you !

  16. Hey, there's that perspective—but with no feet in the shot! Well-captured, Eric! When I was there in March I got up early for this very reason and got lots of pictures of empty Parisian streets. :~}

  17. So much nicer like this than with the nordes. However, totally empty can be a little sterile after a while.
