Green Broom

On this 1st of July our Theme day is "Green". I could have photographed a tree, but I already took a tree related photo a couple of days ago. Instead I dug out this photo of a typical Paris cleaners' broom that I photographed recently on my way to the gym. Isn't this green vibrant? Check what's green in the other cities of the City daily Photo bloggers community.

  1. Does that really sweep things up? A broom -- it looks like those fake plants put in home fish aquariums.

    It's a great street photo -- almost two-colour B&W with a splash of Green.

  2. Sure, isn't it St Patrick's broomstick, to be sure to be sure, begorrah!

  3. A straggly, waggly, well-used, tacky green broom. And I thought council workers were slackers who leant on their brooms all day!

  4. Isn't this broom the same color as the Paris trash trucks? Tres chic to have matching brooms... ;-)

  5. Quite a luminous, limey green! Creative capture!

  6. Did the street sweeper loose his broom or was he taking a break? Nice low perspective.

  8. Ok, I was wondering which green post you would make, Eric, for this theme, like every 1st. And once again your choice is an unexpected and unique one!
Your choice goes to a vibrant, synthetic and artifcial green, don't it ?!! lol!
Following your idea, Eleanor, I'm thinking : did a witch somewhere loose his broom or was he taking a break ?
Well, I also had another thought but it is a bit outdated : "allez du balai la pluie" ;)

  9. I could imagine I clean the floor with a plant.

  11. It's 'Green' is it? Oops well I've posted my paparazzo pic of Liz Hurley; so with her lifestyle I suppose that makes us all green enough?! Do I just about pass into Theme Day?

The green broom was a fab find, Eric! Love too the way you have made its colour stand out on such a seemingly rainy day.

  12. It looks like a feather duster! Is that what they sweep the streets with? LOL Nice Tenin perspective and nice touch of green!

  13. What an eye for composition you have, Eric! I LOVE starting my day reading your post and drinking my coffee. Husband and I went to see Midnight in Paris yesterday for the second time.....:)

  14. Very eye catching green! It does match those little Parisian garbage trucks. I'm with Lois on this one though--it looks less a broom and more like it would be used for dusting or for an aquarium. Regardless, it is very Parisian, and I love the balance and perspective you've offered in this photo. My eye goes right to the broom and then out to the right and then to the left and then to the cracks in the sidewalk.

  15. I am not sure a feather duster would help enough ;)
But I love it when your posts are creative. This is helpful for my own work. How many artistic skills have you got Eric? We all know the photography ones, the way you write in different languages and your creativity! Have you got any others, like painting or music or ... ? Just to know ! Keep it up!

  16. Du vert au rose en passant par le rouge, tout est parfait - in two colour and B&W shot... That's a great encouragement to take the broom and do what I want with it, including trying to fly in the air... Just have to believe it'd work but gosh what a blast!
I'm all upsidedown by the thought! merci merci merci :)

  17. I also love the spot of bright color in this otherwise neutral shot. And, of course, you know I love the perspective—but maybe you just couldn't wait until you got to the gym and had to stop and do some pushups.

  19. @Lois. "Does that really sweep things up?" LOOOOOL Yes, it's not a fake one!

@Monnica "Isn't this broom the same color as the Paris trash trucks? Tres chic to have matching brooms... ;-)" Yes, exactly LOL!

@Eleanor "Did the street sweeper loose his broom or was he taking a break? " Good question. I did not see anyone around ;-)

@Flore " did a witch somewhere loose his broom or was he taking a break ?" LOL funny thought.

@Lynn "It's 'Green' is it? Oops well I've posted my paparazzo pic of Liz Hurley;" It's perfectly compliant: proof is "I'm GREEN with envy!"

@Trishia "What an eye for composition you have, Eric! I LOVE starting my day reading your post and drinking my coffee." Blush!

@Coltrane "Regardless, it is very Parisian, and I love the balance and perspective you've offered in this photo." True, it's very Parisian, you're right.

@A. "How many artistic skills have you got Eric? We all know the photography ones, the way you write in different languages and your creativity! Have you got any others, like painting or music or ... ? " LOOOOOL. That's nice of you to say. FYI, I suck at music, I could not know which side to use a brush...
