Ham and cheese party
I may have been blogging about Paris for several years now, but I'm not the only one! Last evening I attended the anniversary party of Eyepreferparis, the blog that ex New Yorker Richard Nahem has been managing for 5 years! It took place at O Chateau, a place I already mentioned a long time ago (they do wine testing seminars in English). As for me, I only took photos as I don't drink wine and I'm trying to lose weight!

Is that your glass d'eau prominently placed in the photo ;-)? His looks like a cool blog too, but eye prefer yours!
ReplyDeleteEye, eye Monnica, eye agree.
ReplyDeleteLove this picture of people enjoying good food, good wine and conversation.
ReplyDeleteJust a note to you, dear Eric, the New York Times had an article about the White Dinner today. We who follow PDP have been in the know aboit it for quite a long time. The rest of America is now catching up with you. bTW, the Paris organizers want to start one up this August in NYC.
ReplyDeleteI bet it was a fun party. Despite the shallow depth of field, I think I recognize a couple of the guests through the blur.
ReplyDeleteOooh, PHX, a White Dinner! We had our premiere Nuit Blanche this year. I do not think Minneapolis will be ready for a White Dinner soon. But: in NY? Keep me informed, I am ready for a screaming escape, even if I can't afford it! I won't be wearing new Brazilian shoes, though.
ReplyDeleteHey, Eric, I'm no judge of men, but the last time we saw each other in 2010 you looked great! Did you binge on macaroons?
I count myself fortunate to have met both of you in Paris and appreciate what the native (you) and on-site (Richard) bring to those of us who live and breathe Paris. Merci!
ReplyDeleteI just saw you in April and think you are quite trim... so, eat a macaron or two for me!
Bises,
Genie
You don't drink wine? Neither do I, but if I lived in Paris I believe I would.
ReplyDeleteThanks PHX for posting about the NY Dinner en Blanc. It was a great article. Dans mes reves...
ReplyDeleteEye thought you looked en forme in the picnic video, Eric! Eye believe Paris without wine is like a crime against nature...although eye tend to drink more lager at happy hours! Eye caramba!
ReplyDeleteDitto Monnica.
ReplyDeleteEye prefer yours... without offense to the others. But still ! ;)
After the US BBQ, the Brazilian Caipirinhas, I'm glad to see here is the French Ham and Cheese party ! With baguette and wine... Eric, come on... Don't deprive yourself too hard... please. But as I know you a little, I think you really enjoy a sparkling water with a slice of lemon. But what about French bread and cheese...?!
A Frenchman who doesn't drink wine?

ReplyDelete...nice Eric...nice touch...
ReplyDeletemust have been quite THE party!
ReplyDeleteLove both blogs, both are rich on info and glorious photos!
Eric, tu ne bois pas de vin? Vraiment? C'est impossible.... - un Français qui ne boit pas... j'ai du mal à te croire! Mais aucun manque de respect, au contraire - félicitations! Et la photo avec un 'shallow DoF' n'a rien de soulé non plus :)))
LOL@ Rosie's comment!! I hope your vindictive feeling doesn't last too long lovely! and you can't be that vindictive as I see you are very concerned about Jeff's shoe problem so that just shows how caring you are!
ReplyDelete:-)
What self-control! To go to a party and not eat cheese! :) Hope you had a wonderful time and I have to agree, eye prefer the PDP any day! We appreciate you, Eric!
ReplyDeleteWait—are you saying wine is fattening? Oh no! Congrats to Richard! Looks like a great party, even if you're sticking to water. BTW, you looked quite svelte when I saw you in March. (And what a meal that was—you obviously don't indulge in fabulous French food like that every night!)
ReplyDeleteAt least you made something good out of it. Thanks for sharing your experience.
ReplyDeleteA life without wine would be like a life without PDP, bearable but much less enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I seem to remember you drinking some wine, perhaps you were just being polite or perhaps you don't count champagne as wine.
Beau Gosse - long live happy hours, the antidote to falling exchange rates!
I know why Eric does not drink wine : if he does, he might be drunk every night considering the high number of parties he's going to ! Sorry Eric, I know you won't t fully agree.
ReplyDeleteDrummond : Bearable ?? A life without PDP, are you silly or ... ? lol
Though a life without wine is quite possible, you know, as long as ... there is still an intoxication...
Monnica, dreams can come true...I went last year.....with ERIC!
ReplyDeleteWine, perhaps not,(or seldom if I remember well) but Champagne, why not, n'est ce pas ???
ReplyDeleteSounds like another wonderful evening, Eric.
ReplyDeleteSo, I guess now is as good a time as any to tell you that I have been cheating on PDP. Yes, I read Richard's blog. And Olivier's. I wanted to stop. In fact I tried. The spirit was willing, but the eyes were weak. Photos and stories about Paris sustain me throughout the interminable days of sun (?) and warmth (?) one is subjected to living in CA. If it weren't for long walks on the warm, sandy beaches, I don't know how I would survive being so far from my other true love: Paris! A big thanks to all Paris bloggers! Not that I've read them all, but I'm trying.
(And Monica is right: dreams do come true.)

ReplyDeleteBTW, if anyone is going to be in NYC on August 25, here's where to sign up and hope you get to be one of the 1,000-only to attend the NY Diner en Blanc:
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I'll be slumming out in the Hamptons on that night. :~}
I do drink wine (and Champagne Marylène!!) but extremely rarely. Does that make me a bad French?! LOL
ReplyDeleteBut where on earth is Rosie's comment?!!
