Massage, really?!

Nothing to do with the recent charges being dropped in the DSK case, but with a very common practice in Paris: massages with a happy endings ("avec les finitions"), if you see what I mean... Actually, most of the time, you hear about a Chinese salon that was closed by the police for - no, not massage malpractice! - but for prostitution. I must say this is the first time I came across such an advertisement; hard to think real massages happen at the end of this line...

  1. And look how many of the little phone-number flags have been ripped off—unless you did that for effect!
We have these "massage" places in NYC, to be sure, but I've never seen any such adverts. The women are usually Asians, I believe (or, at least, not American) and I have to wonder how many of them are being forced to do this against their will.

  2. But look: it's not just any massage, it's a "special" massage. I'm sure it's all quite proper.

It really is amazing that this sort of thing works. Pretty low.

  3. " avec les finition" funny .

Thanks Eric for showing us the serenity of the Seine one day and this somewhat more sleazy side of Paris the next .

  4. That sure is a bright yellow! It looks like the pole is wearing a hula skirt -- sort of.

In the US we have the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas which are luxury day spas. I go whenever I get the chance. www.reddoorspas.com/spaservices.aspx I guess I'm a spa girl.

  5. Getting an hour massage is one of my favorite "treats" for myself, but I think that this one, (only for men, etc.) is not one I would care for. Interesting color and texture in the photo though. :)

(Think it may be time to treat myself soon!)

  7. Well, this is a first for me! LOL LOL Got to give whoever put this up credit for creative advertising. It would make one worry about where these massages take place?

  8. Perhaps it's for French men who need their egos massaged.

  9. @Drummond. Tsk Tsk!

Actually there is a Belgian joke that goes(I think I mentioned it here already, but I'm not sure):

"How can you make a fortune?

You buy a French for what he is worth and you sell him for what he thinks is worth"!

  10. Very funny Eric! I agree, it's very interesting the number of slips already taken (no, not a play on words slip=underwear in French)...

  11. LOL!! Rule number one about finding a Massage Therapist...NEVER call one that advertises on a "Pole!!". The ones who advertise in the laundromats are probably more reliable... Mmmmmmm...?

  13. Yes tonton, and how do you know this advertisement wasn't on a pole IN a laundromat? Oh, you know all about the laundromats I forgot! LOL

  16. After providing all sort of information, as you did, i was able to speak with a tech and even then he didn't seem to know more than what was already available on Google or the help forum. I still prefer their printers over other vendors but I guess we get what we pay for.
